Castelo de Carbedo |

Castillo tipo fortaleza militar, situado a 930 m. de altura, erigido sobre una roca de más de 20 m.de alto.
El castillo está situado a unos 500 m. de la aldea de O Carbedo, no se conoce exactamente su orígen pero en el año 1550 ya es mencionado por el licenciado Molina que lo denomina "Fortaleza de Courel". Perteneció a Don Nuño Peláez, que más tarde lo donó a los Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago. Actualmente se conservan restos de los muros, parte de un torreón circular y un algibe. Cuenta la leyenda que en el castillo de Carbedo residía Doña Ilduara y el Conde de Lemos venía a visitarla, algunos poemas de Uxío Novoneyra hacen referencia a Doña Ilduara. The Carbedo´s castle are placed in the hamlet of Carbedo, to arrive we had to follow the road that goes to the road Seoane to Campelo, and just before arrive to Campelo we can see the Castle down the road. Building in the Middle Age and although now was in ruins (conserves some walls, rests of a circle tower, part of a floor and a well), offering a great picture remenbering old times of defensive, vigilance and “castrense” missions in the pass between Lugo and León. In this castle been hide Alfonso II el Casto, when he was under protection of the monks of Samos to protect him of the persecution of his cousin Aurelio. In the south of the castle, in the mountain Cido was finded a hospitality table write in bronze in the 28 year of this age and crowned eagles the banners of the roman legions. This two pieces of bronze was in Lugo´s museum at the actuality. |
